Let me get this straight, Johnson is better than Cameron and Bradley would be a good fit for the Sox. How can you guys do this everyday?
Kevin Kaufmann
I can't remember the guy's name who is talking right now, but he's saying that Bradley should go to the Sox, but he's not making his argument:
I think he's saying that if he goes to the Sox, he'll deal with a african-american GM and a non-caucasian head coach, thus making him more comfortable and/or less able to blame racism for things.
Not that I agree, but I think thats what he's getting at.

M & H,
What is it going to take for the Bears to clean house? I just don't see how the player personnel is going to change at all with Angelo here and I believe Lovie's voice is tired on this team and they are starting to tune him out, just look at the effort as of late!

Can we get some Hawks love?!? They started out their circus trip with a 7-1 win in Calgary, that's without 4 main players too! The Bulls aren't trying this year, the Bulls are underachieving, let's give the Hawks their due!
- Sean from Hoffman Estates
What did you guys thnk of Derrick Rose last night against the Lakers? I thought he looked a lot better, at least in the 2nd half, more aggressive, more willing to take a hit. He looked mad out there, maybe it was from getting knocked down some by those big guys in the middle. What are your thoughts?

Listening online - nice job filling in guys.
Regarding the Bears' management, remember that this group (including Angelo and Phillips) in the offseason said "trust me" and "it's the coaches, not the players". With another disappointing season, they are a failure. Either they were wrong in over-evaluating the talent on the field, or they are wrong in how that talent is being prepared and used. I fear that if it truly is a lack of talent on the field, then we're in for more of the same in 2010 and 2011 since they won't have top-tier draft picks and can (or are willing to) only spend so much money on free agents. Don't get me wrong, I love the Cutler acquisition. But they've done a poor job of building up the rest of the team since the Super Bowl.
Keep up the good work.
Jason
Mac,
I just wanted to say I couldn't stand you when you first started with MJ&H. You were the cockiest SOB I ever heard on the radio. I am very opinionated myself but at the same time, I like to think I am very intelligent about sports. If someone on the radio pisses me off by either talking too much about their own opinions or saying things I don't believe to be true, well I don't listen to them anymore, which is obviously my right. I liked & respected Jurko & Harry just because it didn't seem they tried to force their opinion on their listeners, so I stuck with the program.
With all that said, I still listened then and continue to listen now to MJ&H on the way home from work, but probably your last year with MJ&H I really took a liking to you as a talk show host. It took awhile, but finally I caved. I am glad you landed on your feet with a good job with a well respected (you would probably agree with me that it is still a downgrade from your past show with MJ&H) radio station. I will be honest and say I haven't actually heard you during the 9am-1pm hour on the Score or whatever your hours offically are, but I will certainly give it a listen now that I know where & when you are on the radio again. I work a 9-5 job like everyone else (8-5 officially) so I would like to hear you take over the drive home which is when I get to listen the most to sports radio.
I guess I just wanted to say good luck, even if I was a few months late.
***for the record, I wrote this after consuming a half of a bottle (750 ml) of Early Times Whisky. I did not use spellcheck at all or grammar check. I was a straight "A" student back in the day & went to the regional spelling bee when I was in 5th grade after winning the school championship (without studying if you want to believe that or not) and I know from your previous program that you look down a bit on people that don't use proper spelling or grammar, so just wanted to point that out.

Good Morning Mac and Crew
What's wrong with the Bears? Too many nationally televised games, too many teams better than we are, leading the league in stupid penalities, winless November, coaching failure, no killer instinct, should be playing in the CFL and too painful to watch.
According to our coach the meaningful games are in November and December and that's great
If the games don't count in September and October.
Phil Simms always loses me with his obsessive focus upon Eem, whoever that is.
Some people like Eem, and some people don't; this is understandable, given that we see both good and bad performances from Eem.
When they put Eem under pressure, sometimes they sack Eem, and sometimes they force Eem to run out of bounds or throw the ball away. On countless occasions, the NFL has fined Eem.
The weird thing is that I've scoured every NFL roster, and I've found no trace of Eem. Nevertheless, to hear Phil Simms tell it, it's all about Eem.
Are you nuts? Charlie Weis as the next Bears offensive coordinator, really? It seems that your point is change for the sake of change. So if you have Herpes you trade it in for Gonorrhea for the sake of change? No, you cure your herpes and avoid STD's.

Guys,
Count me in the minority that believes the Patriots were correct to go for it on 4th down! I'm betting the Pats can make a yard and a half about 8 or 9 times out of 10. If they do, game over. If they punt the ball to Manning with 2 minutes to play, their odds of driving for a touchdown are pretty good. Even if you miss the 4th down play (as they did) the Colts still have to drive in for the touchdown. They just get much better field position.
Answer this question honestly: If you were a Colts fan.....would you be be hoping the Pats punt me the ball so Manning can go to work starting at about our own 30 yard line...or would you be hoping the Pats go for it, knowing if they make the yard and a half I never get the ball and the game is over?
I wondered why Bill Bellichick did not decide after his first gamble failed to just let the Colts score and put the game back into the hands of his offense to go down the field and try to kick a field goal to win. It is not unprecedented in that Holmgren did it in the Super Bowl. It did not work then but this would have been a good time to try the strategy again. Collingsworth and Michaels spent a great deal of time advising us all how much of a chess match the teams had been involved in during the telecast. Bellichick looking at the pictures during the game. (Heaven forbid that Lovie would lower himself to examine photos of the offense during the game or be caught "coaching") What better way to end the game if the Patriots chose not to go tackle the Colt ball carrier and see if he would score, or fall down and let the time run down, and how it would have played out. I think there was well over a minute remaining at the time. keep up the great work. I enjoy the show guys.
I know you guys will be quick to dismiss this Iowa season since they lost to Ohio State but Iowa fans are walking out of this season with our heads held high. Expectations were exceeded this season, especially after Jewell Hampton went down in the spring. I think most Iowa fans thought this would be a 4 loss season and an Outback Bowl would be optimistic conclusion to the season. The loss of Hampton really showed all of Stanzi's deficiencies and while he was a definite upgrade over Christiansen last season, I have never been a fan. Matt, I know you aren't a fan of Vandenberg but I would venture to say that most Iowa fans have been waiting for him to overtake Stanzi. I thought you were way to quick to dismiss him as a quality quarterback. He's a 19 year old kid who threw 3 meaningless passes prior to being told to take the reins to the team in an instant. I think his game against Ohio State showed a glimpse of what is in the future. He made some mistakes but his skill set is obviously superior to Stanzi's. Do I think he is Chuck Long, no, but I would be happy with another Drew Tate. I am hopeful that the coaching staff will see the same thing and will give him the chance at the No. 1 job next year. Iowa is young and this year was always looked at as a stepping stone to the 2010 season. Although the Big Ten was down this year, it didn't take away from the fact that traveling to Michigan St, Penn State, and Ohio State was going to make it extremely difficult to escape with a conference title. Next year, all 3 come to Iowa City, the road schedule will be relatively easy and the team will return at least 18 starters. If they are healthy, next year will be the year to fear the Iowa BCS talk. I look for the offense to be significantly better and may rank at the top of the conference. They lose Moeaki, but getting him on the field was a challenge and he had a tendency to disappear during games. I don't think people realize how big of a loss Hampton was. He looked like the better back at times last year when he was spelling Shonn Greene and if healthy, he will improve the run game drastically. Iowa will also have 3 receivers that can stretch the field in Johnson-Koulianos, McNutt, and Davis. I don't know that I have seen an Iowa team with 3 receivers as skilled as those 3. The offensive line will be the same for the most part and they have the ability to dominate when they aren't shuffling in between positions (see the Ohio State game). Next year will be the first year since 2002, that I feel Iowa will have some significant offensive weapons that can take pressure off of the defense. On defense, Angerer will be gone and Spievey may leave early but the defensive line returns along with both safeties. Iowa has also recruited heavily on the defensive side of the ball this year and appear to have restocked the line and linebackers. Under Ferentz, we have seen cycles where Iowa is up a couple years and then down a couple. I hope this cycle lasts a bit longer but regardless, it is just the start. So jump off the hate Iowa train and get on the Iowa bandwagon before the next season starts. I'd love to see you guys take a Pro-Iowa approach next season.

Nitwit camron strikes out twice as much as reed
I think he was trying to say Reid Johnson is white.

If the Hawks power play keeps goin like this it won't matter whether they are at home or on the road!
Just think how good this Hawks team will be when they get everyone back! Add Hossa, Burish and Bolland to the mix and this team could be dominant.
Derrick Rose is finally starting to look like himself, maybe getting knocked on his butt by those big guys from the Lakers did him well.
There's no one on the Bulls that would probably even be in the Lakers' rotation beyond Derrick Rose, that just shows we are still a while away from really contending.
