You can hear me with Mulley and Hanley in the morning and into the Danny Mac show weekdays.
I cut my radio teeth in Central Illinois, after squeezing five years into 4 at Illinois State University. My first stop was WMBD Radio in Peoria, where I hosted a high school sports pre-game show and whatever the heck else I could do to get on the air.
Then, along came Lincoln, Illinois where I had the luxury of doing EVERYTHING. A morning show, play-by-play for the high school teams, and I do believe I even made a sale or two? The radio station was literally in the middle of a corn field, and I had a blast pretending there were people listening. After the mighty WVAX flipped to easy listening nostalgia music, it appeared that I was no longer a fit for such a format, which was intended for the all important 70-plus demographic. Next stop, Springfield.
At WMAY, I was a news reporter as well as a co-host for a show that didn't have a thing to do with sports. A young Barack Obama was wondering the halls of the state capitol, and Bart Simpson was a local hero.
I wouldn't take a second back of my my Central Illinois tour, but it was Chicago radio that I was fighting to be a part of the whole time because this is home. I grew up in Itasca, and now live in the city. I do NOT have a dog, cat, wife, or kids. You will be hearing from me...
