The Danny Mac Show
I began my career at the Score back on Belmont in the Summer of 2000. Like many Score employees past and present, I started as an intern in both the promotions and programming departments. As a production intern, I was trained by Jason Goff and Eric Beverly on the Tommy Williams show. On January 1st, 2001 I worked my first paid shift, running the overnight board for the JT the Brick syndicated show. I made so many mistakes, I was certain I'd be fired the next day, but it worked out. From there, I moved to Producer, and Executive Producer for Around the NFL with Julie Swieca and Super Fan Dan.
I have produced many shows for the Score, past and present, including : The Wise Guys, The Mike North Show, The Me Show, The Coach and the Kid, The Jerry Riles Show, Men in Black, Murph and Fred, The Rick Telender Show, Jiggets and Buffone, Chicago NFL live, and The Bears postgame with Doug and OB. Most recently, I was the Executive Producer for the Mike Murphy Show. Murph was integral in my development as a producer. Working day to day on the show taught me to be ready for everything. It was a great learning experience for me.
I am thrilled to join The Danny Mac Show and to work with two guys I have looked up to my entire career. Dan was just leaving the Score when I started, and I've always loved his work, while Matt was one of the many producers who helped me in my early days. He's always been a role model to me, and it's so great to see his career come full circle. I am so excited to work on a show with two of the best hosts in Sportsradio, and a team with unmatched energy and work ethic.
I'm a passionate Blackhawk and NHL fan. At the Score I was the Executive Producer for Blackhawk Hockey for 3 seasons, and host of the 2009 Blackhawks Playoff Postgame Shows. I have been a dedicated Blackhawks fan all my life, living through the ups ( watching the 2 best American born players EVER in Roenick and Chelios) and the downs, ( Alpo Suhonen, Enrico Ciccone, Josef Marha, Reto Von Arx anyone?) It's been encouraging to see hockey back in Chicago. Not too long ago Brian Sutter could hear my friends and I voicing our displeasure from the 300 level in the empty United Center. It's amazing how much this team has grown in just 3 season. This is truly my favorite Blackhawks team ever, and it has been an honor covering them on the Score. The future is bright for this team.
I grew up in Oak Lawn in the St. Linus Parish, and attended St. Laurence HS. I graduated from Lewis University in Romeoville, and currently serve as adjunct faculty teaching radio classes. My wife Hope and I reside in downtown Lemont with our dog Maddux. We enjoy attending concerts, spending time with our families, and of course, cheering on the Cubs and Blackhawks.
